Each year at the Bio Summit we organize a collaborative activity where participants engage in an aspect of crystallizing the Community Bio Movement. At Bio Summit 1.0 we posed the question, “Are We a Movement?,” and explored movement dynamics; at Bio Summit 2.0 we defined our values and Statement of Shared Purpose; at Bio Summit 3.0 we clarified our ethics and norms.
At Bio Summit 4.0 and 5.0, we are exploring the theme of Governance and Structure.
How should we organize ourselves to realize our Shared Purpose? What kind of structures should we create? How can we hold ourselves accountable to our norms? In this exercise, participants use Google documents to work both synchronously, in groups and pairs, and asynchronously throughout the conference to answer key prompts that will generate ideas for how we might govern and structure our global movement.
Our interactive proceedings represent a collection of programmatic offerings including our plenaries, workshops, track sessions, and more! You’ll also find interactive links to Bio Summit video content and the 2020 Hello World introductions.
The Proceedings team, along with many amazing organizers, speakers, and volunteers in the community worked tirelessly to create this historic compilation in an effort to document and preserve the incredible events, conversations, and activities that took place during our unprecedented virtual convening.
